The Immunisation project has been part of the Networks programmes since 1998 and is funded by the Department of Health and Aging as part of the GPII Incentive Package to improve immunisation rates throughout the region.
Goldfields Esperance GP Network’s objective for this program is to target “Prevention & Early Intervention”.
General Practice has been supported by the immunisation project to ensure accreditation requirements are met and that Practice staff are skilled in data cleansing and identifying children who require immunisation.
The Immunisation project is part of the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) strategy to ensure adequate data collection on childhood immunisation and to increase local immunisation coverage. Upskilling of Practice Nurses, building up the data cleansing capacity of practices, and promoting childhood immunisation within the community are core features of this project.
